Moh Ahmed shattered his personal Canadian report within the 5,000 metres on the Portland Intersquad Meet.

The 29-year-old from Hamilton, Ont., gained the race in 12 minutes, 47.20 seconds, bettering his earlier mark of 12:53.16 set final summer time in Rome.

Ahmed cracked the world’s top-10 all-time checklist of 5,000 runners with Friday night time’s outcome.

Final fall, he gained bronze within the 5,000 on the world monitor and discipline championships in Doha, Qatar.

He turned the primary Canadian to dip underneath the 13-minute mark when he broke his earlier report final summer time.

Ahmed was born in Mogadishu, Somalia, and moved to Canada on the age of 11. He trains with the Bowerman Observe Membership in Portland.
